General FAQs

How do I search on learnpipe?

Visit the main search page and enter the topic you want to learn or the course you want to find (ex. Java Virtual Machine). Then click Search!

This will take you to a list of courses with the most relevant results at the top.

If you can't find the course you're looking for you can refine your search by entering additional search criteria. These may be:

  • What? - as in what event type do you require (ex. eLearning)?
  • Where? - where would you like to attend the event (if relevant)?
  • When? - if you have a particular time frame in mind, then specify it here.

Can I use multiple keywords?

Yes! Simply seperate your keywords with a space or comma.

You can also enclose multiple words within quotes for it to be considered a single keyword - just like Google. This may be useful if you know the exact name of the course you want to find.

Why did my seach return no results?

The most common reasons for no search results being returned are: - Misspelled keywords - No course within specified timeframe - No course that matches keyword As of February 2008, learnpipe is still in beta. We are working hard to build the number of vendors who subscribe to learnpipe. The more vendors who sign up, the better your search results will be.

Can I change my username?

On learnpipe you have two names which identify you - your username which you use to login, and an alias which other users will see.

At this time you're unable to modify your username. However you can change your alias, the only restriction is your alias must be unique. Visit your main account area and click 'Update Account' from the left menu.

Why can't I upload my image?

If you're experiencing trouble uploading your images make sure you click the 'Add' button after you have selected your image. If you can see the image in the form this means your image has successfully uploaded - However! Make sure you click 'Update' at the bottom of the page, this will save the image to your profile.

Your images will be scaled for display in search results so it's best to keep your image relatively small to maintain quality - within 300x300 pixels.

This option is activated by default, to change that visit your main account area and select 'Update Account'.
